The Mercedes-Benz E-class will receive a new diesel engine with mild hybrid technology. The machine is not an addition to the range, but a power source that replaces a diesel engine without mild-hybrid technology.
The delivery range of the Mercedes-Benz E-class will look slightly different from March than you may be used to. The E300 – so not the plug-in hybrid E300 e – disappears from the price list. In addition, the E220d diesel version will receive a completely new powertrain. The conventional 194 hp and 400 Nm strong diesel engine is being replaced by a more modern diesel engine with mild hybrid technology.
The new E220d now has a basic 200 hp and 440 Nm strong 2.0 four-cylinder with 20 hp of electrical power. The E-class Saloon E220d sprints to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds and has a top speed of 238 km/h. The E-class Estate with the new diesel engine reaches 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds and should be able to reach 232 km/h.
The starting price of the E-class Limousine E220d is €67,758. For that amount you drive the Luxury Line. Prefer the sportier AMG Line? Then count on a starting price of €72,217. The E-class Estate E220 costs as Luxury Line and AMG Line successively €71,278 and €75,513. The E-class All-Terrain – the rugged station wagon version – is also available as E220d and costs €80,557 in that configuration.
