Carlex Design Europe has once again tinkered with the Mercedes-Benz G-class. The result is this G-Yachting Limited Edition.
The already modest G-class is, as the name suggests, “converted” into a yacht. The G 63 AMG was used as a basis and it is only being refined on a cosmetic level. Luxury is number one in the special edition. The silver paint is finished with contrasting matte black parts, including the hood and body around the mullions. If you zoom in closer to the silver paint, you will see that it does not have a normal metallic finish. The paint looks “brushed”. Indeed: just like a brushed steel boat. Shiny 22-inch wheels complete the remarkable carriage.
For the inside, there is a choice of two leather colors: off-white or cognac brown. The high-quality material is used literally everywhere: right down to the headliner. On the floor are laid with the handmade panels of wood. The special compass logo for the Yachting Edition makes it crystal clear that this is not a regular G-class.
The order books have since been opened. Carlex Design only does not publish a price for the special edition. It just won’t surprise anyone that the price is high, very high.
