The German tuner Lorinser has unleashed his skills on the largest SUV that Mercedes-Benz has to offer: the GLS. Lorinser gives two diesel versions of the GLS more power and brings immense light metal to the top SUV.
In addition to a set of petrol engines, Mercedes-Benz supplies one diesel machine in the GLS in the Netherlands. It is a 330 hp and 700 Nm powerful 3.0 six-in-line, of which Lorinser increases the power with its PowerModule-baptized rewritten engine management system. After the Lorinser treatment, this GLS 400d produces 364 hp and 773 Nm, a power gain of 34 hp and 74 Nm. Lorinser also has a power injection for the 350d not available in the Netherlands. The basic 286 hp and 600 Nm strong machine, known here from the previous S-class, now stamps 319 hp and 690 Nm to all four GLS wheels thanks to Lorinser. Both power cures have a price of € 1,499.
The tuner does not mention how fast the GLS 400d with Lorinser muscle power is. Despite its weight of almost 2.5 tons with 330 hp, a standard specimen is in any case already able to thunder to a speed of 100 km / h in 6.3 seconds. Lorinser also brings a further 22-inch large alloy wheels to the GLS, footwear that goes by the name RS 9. The slippers, available in both matt black and silver gray, have a price of € 1,107.
