Following the Mercedes-Benz A and B-Class, the CLA and GLA are also connected. The CLA 250 e and GLA 250 e will soon be coming to the Netherlands.

Mercedes-Benz also releases a plug hybrid from the CLA Coupé, CLA Shooting Brake and GLA. The 250 e models are equipped with a 1.3 gasoline engine and a 75 kW strong electric motor. The combined capacity is 218 hp, the maximum torque 450 Nm. Mercedes-Benz specifies a fuel consumption of 1 in 55.5 to 66.6, depending on the model chosen and the version.

The CLA can drive up to 69 kilometers fully electrically, the GLA 61 kilometers. The 13.6 kWh battery pack is integrated in the bottom of the car. Mercedes-Benz has made various adjustments to the exhaust and fuel tank, so that the batteries can be placed as smartly as possible and therefore take up less luggage space. Charging the batteries takes 1 hour and 45 minutes via a normal, 7.4 kW charging point. With a 24 kW charger, the batteries can be charged for 80 percent in 25 minutes.

The driver can adjust the driving characteristics of the plug hybrid to his own taste by setting driving programs and the extent to which the batteries are charged when rolling out. The CLA and GLA 250 e are also suitable for towing a trailer, up to 1,600 kilos.

The prices of the new plug-in hybrids are not yet known.
