The Mercedes-Maybach GLS was only unveiled just over two years ago and yet a partly camouflaged copy is already showing up. This undoubtedly means that a slight facelift is coming for the regular GLS and the Mercedes-Maybach version will benefit directly from it.

You can immediately see from the virtually unchanged nose of this prototype that we are dealing with the Mercedes-Maybach version of the GLS. The chrome grille with the many thin bars in it, as well as the chrome skid plate at the bottom of the bumper, betray that. Then there is also the special (again fully chromed) mesh for the air inlets. So at the front it is a feast of recognition. The biggest news seems to happen at the back of the car.

On the back of the no less than 5.2 meters long GLS we still see fairly fanatically packed taillights. Apparently Mercedes-Maybach thinks the time is right to go there with an eraser and a few strokes of the pen. It is difficult to spot exactly what has changed. Count on a slightly different light signature and perhaps a slightly different shape of the units.

As you might have guessed, such a change will not be the sole preserve of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS and indicates a touch-up session for the Mercedes-Benz GLS. After all, he has been with us for a little longer, although the Mercedes-Benz GLS with its barely three years is by no means a veteran. In the interior, however, it is now slightly behind the S-class and the EQS, so we are counting on changes for that too. Think of a new steering wheel and the second generation of the MBUX infotainment system. We expect the unveiling of the revised GLS this year.
