Mercedes-Benz is expanding the delivery range of the E-class in the Netherlands with a new diesel version. The E-class is now also available with a mild hybrid diesel engine. It is the four-wheel drive Mercedes-Benz E300d 4Matic.
Mercedes-Benz already supplies the E-class with numerous petrol and diesel engines. In the diesel field, the 160 hp E200d is the entry-level model, a version that has to tolerate the 194 hp E220d and the 330 hp E400d 4Matic above it. Between the E220d and the E400d is the 306 hp plug-in hybrid E300de. From now on, the E-class is also available as the E300d. Indeed, without the extra -e. The E300d is not a plug-in hybrid, but it is electrified.
The E300d 4Matic is the first mild hybrid diesel engine that Mercedes-Benz places on the delivery list of the E-class. Like the E200d and E220d, the E300d is a four-cylinder, but one with a displacement of 1,993 cc instead of 1,950 cc. The machine delivers 265 hp and 550 Nm, but thanks to a 48v mild hybrid system it temporarily has an extra 20 hp. The 550 Nm powerful E300d, which is always coupled with a 9G tronic automatic transmission that distributes the power to all four wheels via 4Matic all-wheel drive, helps the E-Class in 6.3 counts at a speed of 100 km / h. The average combined fuel consumption is 5.4-5.7 l / 100 km, depending on the chosen version. Its top speed is just that of the E400d 4Matic set at 250 km / h.
Even before Mercedes-Benz announces the arrival of the E300d 4Matic, Techzle can already announce the prices. The E300d 4Matic costs € 83,694 as an E-class Limousine. This makes it a good 13 grand more expensive than the plug-in hybrid E300de. The E-class Estate costs as an E300d 4Matic at least € 87,034. For the time being, the new mild hybrid diesel is passing the nose of the E-Class All-Terrain.
