New entry-level, yet more expensive

Mild hybrid Subaru XV gets new slip-on

A new generation of the Crosstrek XV is already driving around in the United States and Japan. In the Netherlands we still have the previous Subaru XV, the delivery range of which is now undergoing some revision.

Last year, Subaru registered only nine new copies of the XV in the Netherlands and in the first four months of this year the delivery counter remains at three. However, the crossover brother of the Subaru Impreza is not forgotten by the Dutch importer. The Subaru XV is available in the Netherlands with a 114 hp 1.6, but also as a 2.0i e-Boxer. That mild-hybrid ‘Sub’ has a 150 hp 2.0 that receives support from an electric motor of 16.7 hp. The mild-hybrid Subaru XV was available as a Luxury from around €51,000 and was also on the order list as a Premium. The Luxury will be discontinued and will make way for the Pure Plus. Unfortunately, this causes an increase in the starting price.

The Subaru XV 2.0 e-Boxer is now on the Dutch price list for €54,700. That amount concerns the new Pure Plus version. You probably lack almost nothing in it. It comes standard with a fully adjustable driver’s seat, Active Torque Vectoring, aluminum pedals, automatic windscreen wipers, roof rails, dual-zone climate control, automatic high beam, an infotainment system with 8-inch display and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Also standard: a leather-covered and heated steering wheel, heated seats at the front and a comprehensive package of safety systems. Four wheel drive? From the party. The same applies to adaptive cruise control and active lane assist.

Higher up the list is again the Premium. It is now €58,300 in the order books. Compared to the Pure Plus, it serves its owner with extras such as an eight-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, an automatically dimming interior mirror, a sliding/tilting roof, Front View Monitor, extensive TomTom navigation, leather upholstery, a more extensive infotainment system (Starlink) and better audio.

The Subaru XV with 1.6 is significantly less expensive. It is listed as Pure for €45,100 on the price list and costs as Pure Plus and as Premium respectively €48,500 and €52,100.
