Adjust camera control

Since iOS 26, you can adjust the Camera Control button via Settings ▸ Camera ▸ Camera Control ▸ Turn on Camera Adjustments, then tap Adjust. Then you can turn off gestures like Soft Press and Swipe. Via the ‘Controls’ option you have the option to hide certain camera functions. For example, you can disable the settings for hue, styles, exposure, etc. for the camera controller.

You can also change the order with the three horizontal stripes. This way you maintain a better overview when using this button and only the options you really want to use are shown.

Tap ‘Recent’ to make the call

In previous versions of Phone, as soon as you tapped an item in the list, the phone call was started. As of iOS 26, this is no longer the case and you must manually enable this feature via Phone Settings. Enable the ‘Tap Recents to call’ option to start the call immediately when you tap a name or number in the recent calls list. Are you leaving the option off? You can then call back by tapping the phone symbol next to the name or number.

Mathematician’s Note: 3D Graphs

You can now create 3D graphs with three-variable equations, for example z=sin(x² + y²). The rendering works directly in the math note of the Notes app.

You can use this function by typing an equation and then selecting one of the variables. Then choose the Insert 3D graph option. 3D graphs can be enlarged, resized and moved with tap and drag gestures.

Edge Light for Mac

Edge Light is essentially a virtual ring light that appears around the edges of your Mac screen when you’re videoconferencing. The feature works with all major video calling apps – FaceTime, Zoom, Google Meet and WebEx – and provides soft, even lighting to your face. Instead of having to purchase and set up a physical ring light, the Edge Light does the work virtually through your Mac’s screen technology.
