Design evolution

The Mitsubishi L200 has only had its current fierce snout since 2018, but the fifth generation of the pick-up has actually been running since 2014. So it’s time for a new model, and that will come. With the XRT Concept, Mitsubishi looks ahead to the new L200, which will be on the market within a year.
The current generation of Mitsubishi L200 – which is called Triton elsewhere in the world – appeared in a fairly modest form in 2014 and was given a much more intense face in 2018 with a thorough facelift. In the meantime, 2018 is also a few years behind us and Mitsubishi also realizes that the L200 could use some technical innovation. The brand will show the XRT Concept during the Bangkok International Motor Show and does not hide the fact that the show car serves as a preview of the completely new L200.
The new L200, like its predecessors, is again a so-called world car and that means it will be shipped from Thailand – where it will be built again – to various export markets. ‘Diverse’ is an understatement, because according to Mitsubishi it concerns no fewer than 150 countries. The XRT Concept, dressed in Ralliart trim, is an evolution of the current model in terms of design. The new Mitsubishi L200 also has flat LED daytime running lights with the actual headlights one floor below. The grille is also striking. It is much larger than the current one, which is housed under a chrome-colored decorative element.
According to Mitsubishi, the new L200 will be launched in Thailand this fiscal year, which runs through March 2024. We also expect him in Europe and in the Netherlands.
