The small English manufacturer Morgan is implementing a model year update on both the Plus Four and the Plus Six in one move. The classic-looking pair, but equipped with modern technology, is fine-tuned to a level of detail.
The current Plus Six presented in 2019 and the Plus Four renewed last year are – certainly by Morgan standards – still very fresh, but are already being updated. Morgan presents the ‘model year 2022’ versions of the Plus Four and Plus Six. You do not have to count on heavy adjustments, although it is interesting to see in which areas Morgan does fine-tune the two roadsters.
Morgan says it adjusted the Plus Four and Plus Six based on feedback it received from customers and the press. The two models will get a new hood that, according to the English, improves all-round visibility. The new folding roofs must also be easier to attach and the roofs are, if we are to believe Morgan’s words, also better insulated than the previous ones. The Morgan’s will also get a revised version of the Morgan logo. The lower grille is now also available with black mesh. Morgan also puts an exhaust system with valves on the option list of his stubborn two.
We find more adjustments in the interior of the Plus Four and Plus Six. Morgan has improved the seats, seats that now come in the flavors Comfort and Comfort Plus. The Plus Four has the Comfort seats as standard, the Comfort Plus seats – which can be adjusted more extensively – are optional in the Plus Four and standard in the Plus Six. Perhaps the most striking addition is the lockable storage space in the luggage compartment of the two models. A lockable glove compartment was always strange to the pair. The list of changes continues with the arrival of new LED interior lighting, the addition of two USB ports and a ‘coming home’ function for the headlamps.
The Morgan Plus Four retains its 258 hp and 400 Nm strong 2.0 four-cylinder turbo engine, which, like the unaltered 340 hp and 500 Nm strong six-cylinder engine of the Plus Six from BMW.
