The number of car crashes fell last year compared to a year earlier. Unfortunately, it was still hit at least 32,515 times. Especially in Den Helder and South Holland you have to be careful.
Fortunately, 1,855 fewer car crashes were registered with the police in 2020 than in 2019. A decrease of 5.4 percent. That figures Independer. The analysis shows that in South Holland – with 4.8 vandalism per thousand cars – the most vandalism occurs. In total, this involved 7,760 vandalisms, one hundred less than the year before in this province. In 2019, Noord-Holland was still at the top of the list, which now ranks second with 4.7 vandalism per thousand cars. This is followed by Limburg with 4 destruction per thousand cars.
Viewed per municipality, in Den Helder – with 9.2 destruction per thousand cars – the most cars are damaged. This is followed by Zandvoort (8.2), Rotterdam (7.9), Arnhem (7.6) and Heerenveen (7.6). In Rotterdam and Heerenveen there was an increase compared to 2019, in Den Helder and Arnhem a decrease. At the bottom of the list are the Dutch Wadden Islands Vlieland and Schiermonnikoog. There is also relatively little car vandalism in Rozendaal, Renswoude and Baarle-Nassau.
The least car vandalism occurs in the province of Flevoland (2.0), followed by Overijssel (2.7) and Drenthe (2.7). The average for the whole of the Netherlands is 3.7 destruction per thousand cars.
