Narrative puzzle game Framed is the free App of the Week

Apple has named Framed the free App of the Week. The game is an iOS classic, but if you’ve never played it, now is your chance.

Puzzle with a comic book

Every Thursday, Apple declares an app or game as the free App of the Week. This week it has become Framed, the game in which you go through a detective story and determine the outcome yourself. As a player you have to puzzle with a comic book, in which you have to put the pieces of the story in the right place. In this way you determine the gameplay of Framed.

However, the game’s setup is simple. Each scene is split up into different boxes, and you have to make sure they are in the correct order. You do this by dragging the boxes and then pressing ‘play’ to play the scene. If you do it right, you will advance to the next level. Go wrong, then tap the button in the top left to start over. However, you can also do this while puzzling.

The game mainly distinguishes itself in its presentation. The drawn images provide a film noir-like appearance, which looks unique. Also cool is the soundtrack, which ensures that you are completely sucked into the game.

Framed was already released in 2014 and appeared for Android two years later. The game has since grown into an iOS classic that has won several awards. That is why it is such a shame that it is not a particularly long game; you’ll have finished it in a few hours.

Download Framed for free

As mentioned, Framed can be downloaded for free until next Thursday. 357MB of free storage space and iOS 7+ is required for installation. Incidentally, developer Loveshack is currently working on a sequel to the game, which should be released soon.
