Alpine A110 E-ternite

The fully electric new Alpine A110, which should appear in a few years, may not be the result of a collaboration with Lotus. The French would now like to do it all themselves.

The current Alpine A110 has been running for about six years and must be able to hold attention with special limited editions, among other things. Meanwhile, the Alpine A290 is ready to provide fresh blood in the Alpine showroom, but the A110 is certainly not forgotten either. After all, a completely new and fully electric Alpine A110 will appear in 2026. We already received a kind of advance in the form of the A110 E-ternité. The fact that Alpine itself started working with electric drive for that fully electric study model was somewhat striking. After all, Alpine announced at the beginning of 2021 that it will work on the new A110 together with Lotus. Not surprising, given the former deep ties between Renault and Lotus.

However, the plans now seem to have changed and it seems that Alpine (as with the A110 E-ternité) will do the work for the new A110 itself. Automotive News understands from insiders that Alpine and Lotus are leaving the A110 collaboration for what it is. Alpine indicates in a response to the medium that a formal decision will still be communicated, but something seems to be brewing. If the Alpine A110 is indeed developed without Lotus, that does not mean that there will be no cooperation between Alpine and Lotus. The two parties also want to collaborate on other projects, although they may not be as concrete as a sports car developed together.
