Audi has significantly expanded the A3 range in a short time. In addition to the regular petrol and diesel versions, the plug-in hybrid flavors and the sporty S3 versions are also equally known. At the top of the A3 hierarchy, it will soon be the RS3 that will hold sway. Thanks to the Instagram account of Wilco Blok, the RS3 Sportback can already be seen without camouflage stickers.
The 310 hp and 400 Nm strong Audi S3 Sportback and S3 Limousine still function as the sporty toppers of the A3 range, but will soon have to recognize their superior in the mighty RS3 variants. A bunch of photos of the new RS3 Sportback are now circulating on social media, completely adhesive-free! Fair is fair, no one is going to be taken aback by the appearance. The car has already appeared several times in front of the lens of our spy photographer and the external RS recipe is of course well known.
The black RS3 Sportback visible in these photos has the RS-signature oval tailpipes on either side of its rear. In addition, it is richly equipped with sportier bumper work, which in the case of this black copy is decorated with silver-gray accents. The car is not yet fully ready for production, for example, provisional wheel arch extensions can be seen at the front wheel arches.
Five cylinder
Just like its predecessor, the four-wheel drive RS3 Sportback will most likely have access to a five-cylinder, ie a 2.5-liter petrol engine that is expected to be a bit more powerful than the previous 2.5 with 400 hp. Do not be surprised if Audi gives the RS3 around 420 hp to reply to the 421 hp strong Mercedes-AMG A45 S. The unveiling of the new RS3 Sportback, which will also be accompanied by an RS3 Limousine, will probably not be long in coming.
