New base engine makes Peugeot 508 cheaper

Peugeot expands the price list of the 508 downwards with a new basic engine: the 1.2 Puretech. That 130 hp petrol engine makes both the French ‘sedan’ and the station version a lot cheaper.

Who is in the market for a Peugeot 508 with petrol engine, could not choose much until now. The 180 hp 1.6 Puretech has been the only option in this area since the disappearance of the 225 hp 1.6 Puretech. Good news: both the 508 Saloon and the 508 SW are now available with the 130 hp and 230 Nm 1.2 Puretech. Indeed, a three-cylinder.

The 1.2 Puretech is a petrol engine that is known from many other models of Groupe PSA. The big advantage is of course the more favorable price compared to the more powerful 1.6 Puretech. Where the 508 Sedan with 180 hp 1.6 Puretech, implemented as Active, has a starting price of € 42,340, the 508 in the same version but with the 130 hp 1.2 Puretech has a tax price of € 37,850. If we add to that the costs of preparing the road for € 990, we arrive at a starting price of € 38,840. The price difference between the two engine versions in this case is therefore € 3,500. If we apply the same calculation to the Allure version, we arrive at a price of € 41,190.

Prefer the more spatial 508 SW? No problem, this is also available with the 130 hp 1.2 Puretech. For the Active Peugeot asks € 40,440 while the Allure changes ownership from € 42,790. Extensive technical specifications will follow at a later stage, but the prices are certainly in.
