New CEO for Alpine

Alpine has a new CEO immediately: Philippe Krief. Former CEO Laurent Rossi, appointed in early 2021, will remain active within Alpine.

Just 2.5 years after Laurent Rossi took over as CEO of Alpine, he has already handed over the baton to someone else. The honor falls to Philippe Krief. He joined Alpine in February as Vice President Engineering & Product Performance and can therefore take the helm after a short period within Alpine. He will do that in addition to his current position. According to the CEO of parent company Renault Group, Luca de Meo, Krief can help Alpine “become a brand of the future”. Rossi, who recently received a lot of criticism for his harsh comments about Alpine’s Formula 1 team, may focus on ‘special projects’ within Alpine.

The change comes at a special time in Alpine’s history. It is on the eve of an electric model offensive. Until 2030, Alpine will launch no fewer than seven new models. It seems that Alpine prefers to have a man with the necessary technical knowledge at the helm for this. Krief was previously the technical chief at Alfa Romeo and Ferrari.
