New DS 4 will be unveiled this week

This week we get to see the brand new DS 4. The French brand is already warming us up for the unveiling with a dark photo of the nose of the new DS 4.

Next Wednesday, February 3, the time has come. Then DS shows the completely new DS 4. As you can see in this teaser photo, the DS 4 gets the familiar family face from the DS 3, DS 7 and DS 9. Sharp-shaped and reasonably flat light clusters in the nose flank at the top an undoubtedly sufficiently chrome-framed grille. A striking difference between the DS 4 and its brothers is that the DS 4 also has considerable light beams at the corners of the nose. It is somewhat reminiscent of the ‘tusks’ of Peugeot, but even bigger.

The DS 4, which was still testing spotted in December, sits enthroned on a further developed version of the PSA-based EMP2 platform. Cars such as the Peugeot 3008 and 508 are based on this basis. Unlike the smaller (e) CMP platform of cars such as the Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa, it is not (yet) intended for purely electric powertrains. A hybrid powertrain with a system power of 225 hp will come. We know that from the 3008 and 508. That powertrain consists of a 180 hp 1.6 that works together with an electric motor of 110 hp. DS promises an electric range of just over 50 kilometers.

After the DS 4, there is more news in this segment at Stellantis. After all, the new Peugeot 308 is also making its appearance this year. The next Opel Astra is also on its way. They are all still on the EMP2 base. A more electrically-oriented platform for the C and D segments, called eVMP, will still be a few years away.
