According to Kawasaki, the Versys 650 is the most versatile Dual Purpose in the Versys range, an all-rounder that combines riding pleasure, comfort and daily usability in one attractive whole. For 2024, Team Green has refreshed the colors and provided new graphics.

While most manufacturers have increasingly shifted their focus towards off-road in recent years, Kawasaki continues to hold on to its own interpretation of the slogan Dual Purpose: for all roads – as long as they are asphalted. And with success, both the Versys 1000 and the Versys 650 sell like hot cakes year after year.
According to Kawasaki, the success of the Versys 650 lies in the fact that the focus has been placed on street use, which gives the Versys the best handling in its class. The looks of an allroad, but with steering characteristics for public roads. For 2024, Kawasaki continues the success with 2 new colors and the return of the all-black livery with new graphics.
The core of the Versys 650 remains its 649cc parallel-twin engine, which is mainly tuned for a strong midrange and low speed, with remarkably low fuel consumption – as we know from our own experience. How economical? Is one tank from the Netherlands to Dijon economical enough for you?
For the 2021 model year, Kawasaki gave the Versys 650 a major update and the bike received the advanced Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) with two modes, Mode 1 for a sporty riding experience and Mode 2 for optimal traction in all conditions.
The chassis of the Versys 650 is optimized for street use, with long travel suspension, 17-inch wheels and a short wheelbase that provides an excellent balance between comfort and dynamic handling, even on poor road surfaces. A rear shock with separate hydraulic knob to adjust spring preload makes it easy to adjust to personal preference or the amount of luggage or pillion passenger (or both).
Kawasaki claims that despite its sharp design, the comfort of the Versys 650 is a relief, and we can only agree with that. Practical features such as the fairing “gills” and the adjustable windshield (adjustable in four positions over a range of 80mm) offer a lot of wind protection and therefore comfort for long rides.
Like almost all Kawasaki models, the Versys 650 is also equipped with a 4.3″ TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. This multifunctional screen clearly displays essential information, such as speed, rpm, fuel level, outside temperature and more. In addition, the integrated Bluetooth allows you to remotely view vehicle information, ride logs and maintenance schedules via the Rideology App.
As in previous years, Kawasaki is again offering attractive accessory packages, including integrated side cases, to emphasize the versatility of the Versys 650. A 35kW version is also available for A2 license holders.
From the end of this month, the 2024 Versys 650 will be available in the colorways Metallic Flat Spark Black / Candy Lime Green (New), Metallic Matte Dark Gray / Ebony (New) and Metallic Spark Black / Metallic Flat Spark Black (New).
