Honda Civic e:HEV
To celebrate the European launch of the new Honda Civic e:HEV, the car took center stage at Milan Design Week 2022’s Vanity Fair ‘Social Garden’ exhibition.
Honda’s all-new 11th-generation Civic has been designed with a unique human-centric approach to dynamics and design. Honda engineers followed a development ethos of ‘Exhilarating Civic’, focusing on how exterior and interior can work together to create a more comfortable and refreshing car experience that will improve owners’ everyday lives.
Honda’s ‘exciting’ approach to development has led to a modern evolution of the Civic’s exterior design, which also reflects the quiet, elegant design direction of other recent Honda models. The new Civic has a lower, sleeker roofline and a lower doorline that increases window area, improves visibility and provides the same feeling of airiness as the original Civic.
More comfortable interior
Inside the cabin, Honda’s M/M development principle is exemplified by a human-centric interior designed to ensure first-class refinement and spaciousness. The cabin has more visibility and airiness thanks to the low, flat dashboard, the placement of the door mirrors and the large windows all around.
Despite the lower roofline, headroom and interior space remain the same as the previous model, thanks to the clever placement of hybrid components in the chassis and engine compartment. The new Civic’s generous cargo area has a similar payload to the previous model (one of the largest in its segment) but with a wider tailgate opening for greater usability. The result is a vehicle designed with the space and practicality to make it a realistic alternative to larger vehicles such as SUVs.
The Civic has set new standards since its launch 50 years ago, with more than 27.5 million units sold in 170 countries. The brand new version will be available in Europe from autumn 2022.
