The new electric models are flying around you these days, but Honda just comes up with a brand new Civic Type-R. It is now known what the new absolute top version of the Civic will cost in the Netherlands.
Those who want to be beautiful must suffer pain and those who want to have fun must put their wallets on the table. The new Honda Civic Type-R costs €78,980. With a starting price of just under 79 grand, the new Civic Type-R is considerably more expensive than its predecessor, which was in the order books from more than €60,000. Fortunately, the Civic Type-R promises to have enough to make every drive a party.

Under the hood of the new Honda Civic Type-R is a 330 hp and 420 Nm strong 2.0 four-cylinder, a further development of the 2.0 that was good for 320 hp and 400 Nm in the previous Type-R. That power goes straight to the front wheels via a manual six-speed gearbox. The Civic Type-R accelerates to a speed of 100 km / h in 5.4 seconds. Its top speed: 275 km/h.
According to Honda, the new Civic Type-R surpasses its predecessor in every way. The technology is better cooled, the car is more aerodynamic, the throttle response is more direct and even the shift feeling should be better than in the previous model. The new Civic Type-R has adaptive shock absorbers, an exhaust system with valves in the center of the three tailpipes with which you can influence the sound, and the straight-line stability and braking system must also be improved compared to the previous Civic Type-R.
The Honda Civic Type-R is the only Civic in Europe without a hybrid powertrain. Honda only supplies the Civic here as a hybrid Civic e:HEV. You can also purchase two hybrid Civics for the price of one Civic Type-R. The starting price of that 184 hp Civic is about €35,000, namely not even half of that of the Type-R. The first units will be delivered in the first quarter of 2023.
