Apple will release a new version of the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro this year. This reports Apple analyst Mark Gurman. He also has information about the innovations that are expected to come to the iPad Pro 2022.
Still a new iPad Pro in 2022
In the latest edition of the Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman writes from Bloomberg that he is counting on a new iPad Pro in 2022. According to the Apple insider, that will appear in September or October. The current iPad Pro (5th generation) dates back to May 2021.
The main improvements of the new iPad Pros are “M2 chips, wireless charging and upgrades to the camera system,” Gurman said. Of these, wireless charging is especially interesting, because there is no iPad that supports wireless charging yet.

According to previous rumors, this wireless charging happens with MagSafe, which we already know from the iPhone 12 and newer. They have a magnetic ring in the housing, so that you click the magnetic charger onto it, as it were. Because iPads are heavier, the tablet will probably get stronger magnets. Also, the charging speed would be faster than with the iPhone.
Larger iPad Pro
And while the iPad Pro 2022 has yet to arrive, we already know more about the version after that. In 2023, Apple is expected to launch an iPad Pro with a 14.1-inch screen. This makes it the largest iPad that Apple has ever made. Other innovations of this iPad Pro are not yet known.

Gurman is therefore counting on a release of the iPad Pro 2022 in September or October. September is traditionally dominated by the new iPhones and Apple Watch, so a reveal in October seems the most likely.
