New Isuzu MU-X on the way

Isuzu Thailand has released a first teaser of the all-new MU-X. This confirms that the Japanese manufacturer indeed has a completely new SUV based on the D-Max behind the scenes.

For many years now, the MU-X has been an Isuzu SUV based on the D-Max. That means the MU-X is a pretty rugged device with a ladder chassis. The current model is basically from 2013 and is due for replacement in terms of age. Especially when you consider that the D-Max was helped to a completely new generation last year. The Thai branch of Isuzu, the country where both the D-Max and the MU-X are built, now shows a bunch of teasers of the new SUV.

Recently Techzle was able to exclusively show the first images of a new SUV from Isuzu, a car that almost had to be the new MU-X. Those suspicions have now been definitively confirmed. The new SUV that Isuzu is releasing the first plates of today appears identical to the car featured on the patent plates we released to the world. Just like the new D-Max, the MU-X exchanges its old platform during its generation change for the basis that Mazda puts under the BT-50 comparable to the D-Max. In terms of design, the MU-X shows the necessary similarities, but more than ever the new seven-seater gets its own look. In that front we also observe some Mazda influences.

The engine list will probably contain the same 190 hp and 450 Nm 1.9 Diesel that Isuzu also supplies in the D-Max. The MU-X will be unveiled later this month. Dutch asphalt, or Dutch mud, does not get under the wheels of the SUV through the official channels.
