Mercedes-Benz E-class teaser

For decades, the E-class has been one of the pillars on which the Mercedes empire leans. It is therefore not surprising that the arrival of an entirely new Mercedes-Benz E-class is accompanied by a large teaser campaign. Mercedes-Benz is now showing the last bits of ‘new E’ before the model makes its digital debut tomorrow.

Mercedes-Benz has already released the interior and the side view of the new E-class and the brand is further coloring the remaining open spaces by means of three teaser photos. Mercedes-Benz presents the viewer with a photo of a headlight that, with its wavy line at the bottom, refers to the two separate headlight units that Mercedes-Benz used several times in the past. Striking is the black mask that the E-class gets around its grille, just like the electric EQ models of the brand. As far as we know, the E-class will not get a fully electric version. Lower in the bumper we see a trim part that appears to be bricked up with black plastic with an arsenal of stars, referring to the Mercedes logo.

Mercedes Benz E class

The new Mercedes-Benz E-class comes as a Limousine and again as an Estate. That Estate in turn gets an adventurous All Terrain variant, just like before. When it comes to engine types, Mercedes-Benz is making great efforts. You can count on the arrival of (mild-hybrid) four and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, but also on the arrival of a series of plug-in hybrids with petrol and diesel machines. Mercedes-Benz has devised the EQE for fully electric drive. With this, it chooses – just like Audi – a different path than major competitor BMW. The new 5-series, also planned for this year, will have a fully electric variant. It will be called i5. In addition to the A6, Audi comes with a fully electric A6 e-tron that technically does not share a bolt, nut, screw or nipple with the A6 with combustion engines.

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class will make its public debut tomorrow. We expect the sporty AMG versions later. There will not be a direct successor to the E-class Coupé and Cabriolet. Together with the Coupé and Cabriolet versions of the C-class, that two will be succeeded by one model that may be called CLE.
