New Nissan Qashqai takes longer to arrive

The new Nissan Qashqai should show its muzzle in a not too long time, but according to the latest rumors, it will take a while before production starts. That would have been postponed.

The Financial Times reports that production start for the brand new Nissan Qashqai was scheduled for next month. Two sources would have reported that to the American newspaper. Opposite the British Autocar However, Nissan says that the brand is still fully engaged in preparations for production in Sunderland. To do this, 400 million pounds must be pumped into the British factory. “Exact dates are not yet known, but we look forward to sharing this with you within a few months,” said Nissan’s UK arm.

According to the Financial Times, this means that the new Qashqai has been delayed for the time being. It is assumed that the SUV will not show itself before April 2021. There are two reasons for this: on the one hand, the corona crisis, which caused huge delays to manufacturers, and on the other hand, the tensions surrounding Brexit. Two-thirds of the 250,000 Nissans built in Sunderland for export are Qashqai. A ‘hard Brexit’ can therefore have major consequences for the purchase price of a Qashqai.

The current type has been running since 2014 and has grown into a great success. The revised Qashqai is one of the many novices that Nissan wants to come up with in the near future.
