Great Wall has secured the design of a strikingly designed new model with the European Patent Office. It seems to be a large sedan with retro design that does not set foot on European soil like Wey or Ora.

The Chinese manufacturer Great Wall will set sail for Europe next year. The company markets the Wey and Ora brands here and will sell, among other things, the stubborn Ora’s 02 Cat and 03 Cat and a Wey SUV named after coffee. Ora is the brand that is completely dedicated to electric cars with a strong retro design, while Wey is the more serious of the two Great Wall brands that mainly depends on electrified SUVs. AutoWeek has found drawings of a new SUV submitted by Great Wall in the database of the European Patent Office.

The fact that Great Wall establishes the design of the not yet officially presented four-door sedan in Europe is not yet conclusive proof that the car will actually come on the market here. In addition, it could also be a study model. The fact is that the car with its round light units at the front and rear looks nice and retro and is even somewhat reminiscent of the Nissan Skyline.

Another striking design detail is hidden in the handles. They’re recessed into the doors, but it’s the placement of the rear door handle that catches the eye. That is in fact at the front of the door, which probably indicates that the rear doors hinge backwards. suicide doors So. Although Great Wall’s still unknown product may be marketed in Europe as Ora or Wey, the hub caps reveal that Great Wall at least also houses it under the banner of its Haval sub-brand. Great Wall has not yet announced any plans to bring Haval to Europe, but that could always change.

Haval

Like Wey, Ora and Tank, Haval is a brand of Great Wall Motors. Haval mainly focuses on SUVs and crossovers, but apparently Great Wall also sees room for an eccentric sedan among the range of high-legged models. By the way, don’t be completely fooled by the somewhat strange proportions of the car in these drawings. Overhangs in particular tend to distort on these types of patent plates.
