New Skoda Fabia is coming soon

The next generation of the Skoda Fabia will not be long in coming. Skoda now shares the first official image of its youngest member.

The current Skoda Fabia has not lasted very long in proportion. Where previous Fabias were on the market for roughly eight years, this model series has already passed the baton this year, after six years. The reason for this can be found mainly on a technical level. The Fabia is not yet on the latest MQB A0 platform where fellow group members Volkswagen Polo and Seat Ibiza are already on thrones. Skoda would rather not wait any longer to rectify that. The unveiling of the new Fabia will take place this spring, the Czechs now announce.

The announcement is accompanied by a teaser photo in which we, wrapped in a smoke screen, see the youngest Fabia from the side. No big surprises in terms of design, but that was not really expected. The Fabia rubs against the Polo more than ever. The first time it was spotted testing, it was even disguised as its Volkswagen brother. Recently, however, the Fabia also went out the door in its own jacket, so that already gives a good idea of how the end result will be.

In terms of technology, we can therefore expect a car that follows similar paths as the Polo and Ibiza. So count on a 95 hp and 110 hp 1.0 TSI, although there may also be an absolute basic version with an 80 hp MPI in the showroom. Who knows, Skoda may also work on an RS version in the background, which may then get the 200 hp 2.0 TSI in the nose that we also find in the Polo GTI. Dreaming is always allowed. For the more practical people there is especially good news; the Fabia also comes again as a Combi. That is special, because a station wagon in the B-segment is an almost extinct phenomenon. Unfortunately, we have to wait until 2023 for the Combi. The current Fabia Combi will therefore continue for a little longer.
