New Suzuki Swift already spruced up, also Spacia and SuperCarry to Auto Salon

The flow of decorated little ones for the Tokyo Auto Show continues at the end of the year. Suzuki immediately gave the brand new Swift a sporty look, but of course the enthusiasts of the quintessential Japanese kei car were also taken into consideration.

Suzuki again? Of course. After all, the Jimnys that were previously presented at the Tokyo Auto Salon are products of tuner Damd. Suzuki itself is also in Tokyo and has wisely decided that it has nothing more to gain in the Jimny field. That is why the brand is focusing on the brand new Swift, a car that will also come to Europe again next year. For the occasion, the Swift is equipped with a gray roof, angry viewers, sporty striping and some black accents. Not very exciting, because apparently there was no time for that so soon after the introduction of the Swift.

Fortunately, Suzuki’s fun department expanded more extensively on the existing Japanese offering. For example, the Suzuki Spacia appears as ‘Papa Boku Kitchen Concept’. We have not yet seen any further explanation, but it appears to be treatment according to the very fashionable overland principle. With the gray underside of the flanks, sturdy wheels and Jeep-like grille, this Spacia looks a bit more adventurous than a regular copy, without really going off-road.

Suzuki Super Carry Mountain Trail Concept

The last of the three concept cars, the Suzuki Super Carry Mountain Trail Concept, emphatically does the latter. The distant descendant of the Super Carry, which was once also available in Europe, appears here in a very rough form. A tubular frame has been built on the bare chassis behind the cabin, intended, among other things, to carry a (not too large) spare wheel. A complete cage construction around the cabin ensures that occupants should survive a rolling Super Carry, which may not be an unnecessary luxury given the height/width ratio of this device. The front bumper and even front doors have also been replaced by tubes, for an adventurous ‘open’ experience and to ensure that this Super Carry can withstand a knock. Underbody protection plates, extra light bars and towing eyes complete the party.
