Volkswagen is coming with a new version of the electric ID4, AutoWeek can report before Volkswagen itself publicizes it. In the new version of the ID4, Volkswagen combines the smallest electric motor with the largest battery pack. This gives the new engine version of the Volkswagen ID4 a range of 520 kilometers. We also have the starting price of the new version for you.
For those who are not familiar with the delivery range of the ID4, we will quickly run through the available versions. Volkswagen supplies the ID4 as Pure, Pro and GTX. The Pure is the name for the ID4 with the 52 kWh battery, the smallest battery pack that can be combined with a 149 hp electric motor and a 170 hp powerful drive unit. A step above that is the Pure, the variant with 77 kWh battery and 204 hp strong heart. The sporty GTX is at the top with its two 299 hp electric motors and the same 77 kWh battery. Volkswagen now comes with a new version of the ID4 Pure with 77 kWh. From now on, this largest battery pack can also be combined with the less powerful 174 hp electric motor.
The Volkswagen ID4 Pure with 77 kWh battery and 174 hp electric motor is of course slightly slower than the Pure (77 kWh) with the already known 204 hp machine on the rear axle. Where you zoom to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds with the latter, you have to take 10.4 seconds for the 0-100 sprint in the Pure with 174 hp. You get a much larger range in return. The new ID4 Pro with 77 kWh battery and 174 hp comes up to 520 kilometers on a full battery. The 204 hp variant has a maximum range of 482 kilometers behind its name.
The starting price of the Volkswagen ID4 Pro with 77 kWh battery and 174 hp powerful electric motor has been set at €45,190. This makes it €2.550 cheaper than the 204 hp ID4 Pro.
