The next iPhone is coming sooner than you think and is rumored to have two design changes. This is what you can expect!
iPhone 17e
Another new iPhone is coming! It has been a while since Apple announced the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, the line-up of the iPhone 17 series is not yet complete, because the iPhone 17e will follow in 2026. This is the successor to the iPhone 16e and will be the cheaper version of the iPhone 17. According to rumors, Apple is working on two important changes in the design of the next iPhone.
The main difference between the iPhone 17e and the iPhone 17 will be the starting price. You can currently get the iPhone 16e for just €569, we expect a similar price for the iPhone 17e. That’s a big difference with the iPhone 17, which you can now get for €968. For this cheaper price you miss out on a number of features, for example the iPhone 16e still has an outdated design with a notch instead of a Dynamic Island. This will change with the iPhone 17e, because that version will reportedly have a modern design.

According to rumors, the iPhone 17e will have a Dynamic Island, meaning the company is finally saying goodbye to the notch. Regular iPhones have been equipped with the Dynamic Island since the iPhone 15, in which you can see certain information. This will display timers and tell you what song is playing on your iPhone. With one press on the Dynamic Island you can open the application that is active in the background. The iPhone 16e has to make do without the feature, but the iPhone 17e does get a Dynamic Island.
That’s not the only change in the design of the next iPhone. It is expected that the screen edges of the iPhone 17e will be thinner than we currently see on the iPhone 16e. With the thinner edges and the Dynamic Island, the iPhone 17e resembles the regular iPhones. It is still unclear whether the screen itself will also become larger. For example, the iPhone 17 has a 6.3-inch screen, while the iPhone 16e has a 6.1-inch display.
Release of the iPhone 17e
The iPhone 17e will therefore receive noticeable changes in the design. It is expected that Apple will also provide the iPhone 17e with a new processor. The iPhone 16e runs on the A18 chip, with the iPhone 17e it will most likely be the A19 chip. We already saw the same processor on the iPhone 17. Apple may also improve the front camera of the iPhone 17e, so that the phone has an 18-megapixel camera on the front, just like the iPhone 17 series.
We don’t have to wait long for the iPhone 17e, because the device will be released in the first quarter of 2026. Apple announced the iPhone 16e this year on Wednesday, February 19, and the release of the iPhone 17e is expected around the same period.
