Surprise: Nintendo has launched its own music streaming service. Nintendo Music is now available for download on your iPhone, iPad and Android.
Nintendo Music: streaming service with all your favorite classics
Can’t get enough of the songs from Super Mario Odyssey or that wonderful background music from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? Then Nintendo has a surprise for you: with Nintendo Music you can now listen to all your favorite classics.
The app can now be downloaded from the App Store for your iPhone. You must have a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online for this. This is available from 19.99 euros per year. You can also choose 7.99 euros per three months or 3.99 euros per month. But chances are you already have a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online if you own a Nintendo Switch.
After installing the app you must log in with your account. Then you can immediately start listening to music from different Nintendo games. The offering in Nintendo Music is still a bit limited. It currently contains music from the following games on Nintendo Switch:
- Pikmin 4
- Pokémon Scarlet/Violet
- Splatoon 3
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Kirby Star Allies
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
In addition to these games, Nintendo Music also contains tunes from games from the Wii, Nintendo DS, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, Super NES, Game Boy and NES. At the time of release, there are a total of just over 20 titles available. But Nintendo has indicated that it will add more titles soon.
It is very nice that you can also select all the music of a certain character (think of Bowser, Mario or KK Slider, among others). And perhaps the coolest feature: it is possible to extend some numbers. This allows you to listen to your favorite song (Mii Plaza!) for 15, 30 or 60 minutes.
