Nissan Ariya Nismo spy shots

The Nissan Ariya is a car that you would not expect to see on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Yet the EV was spotted there by our camouflage photographer and apparently there is a good reason for that.

According to many, an electric SUV like the Nissan Ariya has no business on the Nordschleife. Yet the Ariya is also secretly quite potent, because anyone who leaves a scant €72,000 with Nissan gets the keys to a tight 400 hp four-wheel drive version that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds. We can imagine that this will allow you to outpace quite a few others in the Touristenfahren. However, in these photos we see an Ariya who still has to make mincemeat of that top version.

The spotted Nissan Ariya has a more aggressive nose, more spoilers and a different rear bumper than we are used to from the SUV. That is already an important hint that this is an even more potent version. How potent exactly is still unclear at the moment. In terms of power, the now strongest Ariya already easily beats competitors such as the Volkswagen ID4 and Skoda Enyaq, Nissan may be targeting cars such as the Kia EV6 GT and Hyundai Ioniq 5 N with a real Ariya Nismo. In that case it should appear on the scene with roughly 600 hp. We wait and see!
