The Tokyo Auto Salon will be held in Tokyo again in January. Nissan will be there with a colorful group, from the new Z to a camper van with ‘wood’ on the sides.
The Tokyo Auto Salon, which should not be confused with the Tokyo Motor Show, is mainly about sportiness and tuning. The 2022 edition opens its doors on January 14. Nissan then makes the debut of the Japanese version of the Z, which is traditionally called Fairlady Z in Japan. In addition to the regular production model, the Japanese are also presenting a special edition of this model. There are no photos yet, but it will be a car that visually harks back to the past. There is also a Nissan Z GT500, a racer for the Super GT class.
Equally interesting, but of a completely different order, is the Caravan Mountain Base Concept. This campervan is based on the ancient Japanese Nissan NV350 Caravan. As the name implies, it is a motorhome intended for use in mountainous areas. The interior should therefore feel like a mountain hut, which, according to the pictures, is also guaranteed by a (virtual) fireplace. The wood motif on the flanks is especially noteworthy, because we hardly ever see such a ‘Woodie’ these days.
If you don’t like the log cabin theme, there is also a ‘Caravan’ motorhome with a much more modern look: the Myroom Concept. In addition, Nissan brings a whole range of small news and accessories for the Japanese range. Visitors can see the Aura Nismo, for example, but also a specially decorated GT-R. Autech, a kind of in-house tuner, plays a major role. That presents new finery for the Note and the Note Aura.
