According to a new rumor surrounding the iPhone 16 Pro colors, the blue titanium of the iPhone 15 Pro will be replaced with bronze.
New color looks like bronze but has a different name
Apple is reportedly replacing the iPhone 15 Pro’s blue titanium color with a color that most closely resembles bronze. This rumor comes from user ‘Fixed focus digital‘ on Weibo. He indicates that the new color of the iPhone 16 Pro looks like bronze and that the surrounding frame has a titanium-like appearance.
Interestingly enough, an earlier rumor that the name of the new color of the iPhone 16 Pro is not ‘Bronze’ but ‘Rose’. This is in contrast to ‘Rose Gold’, a color that Apple first introduced with the iPhone 6S in 2015.
These are the iPhone 16 Pro colors you can expect
It’s possible that the two rumors aren’t contradictory and point to the same color, but they’ll just look slightly different under different lighting conditions. It’s worth noting that the latter rumor only mentions the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but it’s fair to assume the new color will come to both Pro models.
If we list all the colors of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max that we expect, we have Black, White or Silver, Gray or ‘Natural Titanium’ and Rose.
An improved process for titanium
A another rumor suggests that Apple plans to use an improved process for finishing and coloring titanium for the iPhone 16 Pro, potentially resulting in a glossier appearance than the brushed finish of the iPhone 15 Pro models. The glossy finish may more closely resemble the stainless steel Apple has used in previous years, but it will be more resistant to scratches.
Apple typically releases its new iPhone lineup around mid-September, which means we’re still roughly six weeks away from the launch of the iPhone 16 series. Like the iPhone 15 series, this year’s lineup is expected to be limited to four models, but the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max get slightly larger screen sizes.
