Can do a lot, but not cheap

Opel announces the price of the Opel Astra Sports Tourer GSe. The fastest version of the Opel Astra Sports Tourer combines space with a lot of engine power and the advantages of a plug-in hybrid powertrain, but it is certainly not cheap.
The Opel Astra Sportstourer GSe costs a minimum of €50,699. This makes it €1,200 more expensive than its hatchback brother, which has already appeared on the price list and currently costs at least €49,499. For that half ton, the fastest and thickest version of the Astra Sportstourer is well equipped, but not what the car trade usually calls ‘packed’. For example, optional things such as extensions to the infotainment system, leather upholstery, a panoramic slide-tilt roof and pixel LED headlights are available, which can increase the price by several thousand euros.
What you always get, of course, is the 225 hp plug-in hybrid powertrain that, strangely enough, is offered in the 308 without a special sports label at sister brand Peugeot. The power comes from a 180 hp 1.6 and a 110 hp electric motor. In the case of the Sports Tourer, this results in a 0-100 time of 7.6 seconds and a top speed of 235 km/h. Fully electric, the most powerful Opel Astra should be able to cover 63 kilometers at speeds of up to 135 km/h. Of course, nothing changes in the luggage compartment compared to less powerful Astras, so it can now also carry a maximum of 1,553 liters of stuff. On the outside you can recognize a GSe by an even sportier and more black-finished version of the front bumper that is already on the ‘Level 4’, while the interior is graced by sporty seats with GSe logo.
