Opel Combo-e Life is an electric space giant

Opel is adding an electric model to its delivery range. The Combo Life is now available in fully electric form, just like its brother intended for the commercial vehicle market. It will be at Dutch dealers from the autumn.

Opel’s electric delivery range is starting to take shape. The brand already has the Corsa-e, Mokka-e, Zafira-e Life and the commercial vehicles Vivaro-e and Combo-e. Later this year, Opel will also add an electric Movano to its delivery range, the Movano-e, but first Rüsselsheim will launch the electric passenger version of the Combo-e, the Combo-e Life!

Formerly known as the Combo Tour, the Combo Life is the passenger version of the Combo, presented at the beginning of 2018, the equivalent of the Citroën Berlingo, Peugeot Rifter and Toyota Proace City Verso. The Combo on gray license plate was recently presented as Combo-e with an electric powertrain and from now on the Combo Life on yellow license plate is also available as an EV. It should come as no surprise that the Combo-e Life, just like its delivery brothers, gets a 136 hp and 260 Nm strong electric motor on the front axle, which helps it to 100 km / h in 11.2 seconds. The top speed is electronically controlled at 130 km / h. The range is set at 280 kilometers. The battery pack can be charged to 80 percent of its capacity in approximately half an hour using a 100 kW DC fast charger. A 3-phase 11 kW on-board charger is standard.

The Combo-e Life is available in two lengths, just like its sisters with a gray license plate. Both the 4.4 and 4.75 meter long versions are available with five or seven seats. The luggage compartment of the short variant, as a five-seater, is 597 liters. The longest Combo-e Life has – also as a five-seater – 850 liters of luggage space. The maximum towing weight is 750 kilometers and that is of course good news for those who sometimes hang something on the hook. For those who sometimes end up next to the asphalt or like to plow through snow or mud, Opel has put IntelliGrip traction control on the option list.

The Combo-e Life can be found at Dutch dealers from the autumn. Prices will follow in the run-up to the market launch. We now have to wait until Citroën, Peugeot and Toyota come with the electric derivatives of the Berlingo, Rifter and Proace City Verso on a yellow license plate.
