Less expensive plugging around

Peugeot 3008 also as a 180 hp plug-in hybrid

The Peugeot 3008 gets a new plug-in hybrid powertrain. The SUV was already available with 225 hp and as 300 hp plug-in hybrid powertrains, and a 180 hp version will soon be added, AutoWeek can report exclusively.

Anyone in the market for a Peugeot 3008 can already choose from various powertrains. A significant part of it is also highly electrified. The 3008 also comes with a new mild-hybrid powertrain this year, but that’s not the only news. There will also be a new plug-in hybrid variant.

The Peugeot 308 is already available as a Hybrid 225 with 225 hp and as a more powerful Hybrid 300, but these two plug-in hybrids will soon be joined by a third variant: the Hybrid 180. The Peugeot 3008 Hybrid 180, like its stronger brothers, has a 1.6 , although it does not currently deliver 180 hp or 200 hp, but 150 hp and 300 Nm. The electric motor delivers 110 hp, just like that of the Hybrid 225. The system power: 180 hp and 360 Nm. The whole is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Also interesting is the battery pack. With a net capacity of 11.3 kWh, this is slightly smaller than the model in the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid 225 and Hybrid 300 (12.9 kWh). The Peugeot 3008 Hybrid 180 can travel up to 59 kilometers on a full battery and with that it has to tolerate its stronger brothers (63-65 kilometers) at a short distance.

The Peugeot 3008 Hybrid 180 buzzes to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds and has a top speed of 215 km/h. The 3008 Hybrid 180 has a fiscal starting price of €43,410 as an Active Pack Business. Mind you, that is roadworthiness free of charge. It is also available as an Allure Pack Business and then has a fiscal starting price of €44,710. The Peugeot 3008 with this new plug-in hybrid powertrain is about €1,500 cheaper than the Hybrid 225.
