Playful VanMoof trade-in discount at Renault

This is how you do get rid of your VanMoof bicycle

Playful VanMoof trade-in discount at Renault

A smart Dutch Renault dealer cleverly responds to the soap opera that takes place around the bankruptcy of VanMoof. Anyone who owns or has ordered an electric bicycle from VanMoof can benefit from an extra trade-in discount thanks to a fun trade-in campaign.

Renault Nieuwendijk – which has eight branches in the Netherlands – has come up with a trade-in promotion that listens to the name ‘Moof On’. So moving on, but by that the Renault dealer is of course referring to leaving the electric bicycles of the defunct VanMoof behind you.

If you own a VanMoof electric bicycle, you will receive a trade-in discount of up to €2,500 on a new Renault at Renault Nieuwendijk. Those who have an electric bicycle on order from VanMoof, but can whistle about it after the bankruptcy of VanMoof, will not be forgotten. They can also claim the trade-in benefit.

“Renault does provide you with the reliable quality you need. A new Renault is at least as stylish, but the range takes you much further. And Nieuwendijk is always ready for maintenance,” the Renault dealer writes on his website. There are clearly a few sneers to VanMoof’s products.

The trade-in discount of €2,500 sounds substantial, but is actually smaller. Those who do not have a VanMoof or have it on order will receive a trade-in benefit of up to €2,000. Renault Nieuwendijk is not the only Renault dealer to pick up on the sentiments surrounding VanMoof’s bankruptcy. Renault Velserbeek has also set up a similar campaign.
