Polestar 1 waves off with a golden handshake

The Polestar 1, the first car under the Polestar brand name, will go out of production later this year. Polestar says goodbye with a ‘special edition’, which really only distinguishes itself with a matt gold lacquer and ditto details.

We also cannot discover a name, because Polestar describes this farewell version of the Polestar 1 simply as a ‘special edition’. We already know gold-colored details from the Polestar 1 and the Performance version of the Polestar 2. This time, however, it goes well beyond brake calipers and seat belts and the entire car is finished in a matte gold tone. The interior also has to believe in it. Here we see gold-colored details and gold-colored stitching on an otherwise black background.

A total of 25 of these gold Polestar 1s will be built, after which the production line for this model will be shut down.

S60 coupé

Even without the gold, the Polestar 1 is a high-profile car. The coupé is known as the lightning-fast and very pricey ‘halo-car’ with which Polestar wanted to put itself on the map, but at the same time looks like a Volvo S60 Coupé. Where Polestar stands for fully electric cars, this first Polestar is also a plug-in hybrid. However, with 609 hp and 1,000 Nm, it is a very powerful copy. In addition, the electric range is very impressive: Polestar gives up 124 km and we have never seen that with a PHEV.
