911 more popular than Panamera

Porsche can look back on three excellent quarters, especially in terms of profit. Although ‘only’ 2 percent more cars were sold, the profit went through the roof.
In the first nine months of 2022, Porsche delivered a total of 221,512 cars worldwide. As mentioned, that is 2 percent more than in the same period in 2021, but on the financial side there are better results. With a turnover of €26.74 billion, there is already a 15.7 percent growth in that area. The operating profit is even more favourable. Instead of €3.59 billion, after counting all the cents, there was now €5.05 billion, or 40.6 percent more than last year.
This is partly due to the successes of a branch of Porsche that is perhaps less interesting for car enthusiasts, namely Porsche Financial Services. That saw his profit increase by 32.7 percent, but there are also good explanations in the automotive field. For example, Porsche sold 9 percent more 911s, a car that reportedly has a healthy profit margin. Although the iconic Porsche (or simply ‘the Porsche’) loses out to the SUVs in the range in terms of sales, it still makes a significant contribution.
In total, 30,611 911s were sold. This makes this model more popular than the Panamera, of which Porsche managed to sell 25,452. The electric Porsche Taycan does hardly any worse with 25,073 units, but according to Porsche it could score much better if the company could have obtained all the necessary parts. The order book is full, so for now Porsche is selling as many Taycans as it can deliver. The 718 model series, consisting of the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman, is the least popular with Porsche. In total 14,003 were sold. Despite its age, the Macan still performs excellently and generated 59,769 customers for Porsche. He only has to acknowledge his superiority in the larger Porsche Cayenne, which was good for 66,769 copies divided over two body styles.
