Successor to acclaimed 911 R

Porsche has for many years tended to close a generation 911 with a limited stunner. Think of the 911 R and the 911 Speedster. The Germans continue this tradition with the 911 S/T.
With the 911 S/T, Porsche is once again releasing a limited extra pure version of the 911. There will be a total of 1963 units (the year of birth of the 911) of the car on the market, undoubtedly, as always, they are already sold out in advance.
The S/T is reminiscent of the concept of the 911 R. The car combines the spoilerless appearance of the GT3 Touring with the 525 hp 4.0 boxer engine of the GT3 RS, good for 9,000 rpm. But where the block in that extreme RS is always linked to a PDK automatic transmission, the S / T gets a six-speed manual gearbox. A new lightweight coupling has been developed for this purpose. Together with the single-mass flywheel, this reduces the weight of the rotating mass by 10.5 kilos. This gives you extremely fast throttle response. Undoubtedly good for a motorcycle-like experience when it comes to touring.
S/T lightest 911 available
Like the 911 R, the 911 S/T focuses on fun on the road, not lap times on the track. Weight saving was still a priority. The car weighs only 1,380 kilos on its 525 hp, making it the lightest 911 of the current generation. This has not only been achieved by using carbon fiber for, among other things, the front lid, the roof, the front wheel arches and the doors, but also, for example, by scrapping the four-wheel steering. This makes the S/T the only 911 of this generation that lacks this technology. In total, the car is 40 kilos lighter than a GT3 Touring with a manual gearbox, and the transmissions are even shorter. The 0-100 time is 3.7 seconds, the top is 300 km / h. The rear seat is of course missing on the inside, there we only find a carbon fiber reinforcement. Carbon fiber sports shells are standard, but for an additional cost buyers can opt for a slightly more comfortable sports seat that is adjustable.
To make it even more exclusive, a Heritage Design package is available. Then you will receive your S/T in the Shoreblue color to be spotted on the photos with tinted wheels. The doors get a starting number of your choice and the steering wheel, headrests and wheel nuts are a reference to times gone by. Just like the cognac upholstery. It is not yet known how many cars the Dutch importer will be allocated, the demand will undoubtedly exceed the supply, although the price is not yet known. It will be on the market this fall, we will be on the road with it before then!
