New Ring Record

The Porsche Taycan can call itself the fastest electric production car on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. The Taycan completed a lap of the nearly 21-kilometer circuit in the German Eifel in just 7 minutes and 33 seconds.
The Porsche Taycan is not the fastest production car ever on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. However, the Taycan is the fastest electric-powered production model ever on the circuit that is also known as ‘the green hell’. The Taycan completed a lap of the 20.8 kilometer circuit in 7 minutes and 33 seconds. That is of course bloody fast, but almost a full minute slower than the Porsche 911 GT2 RS (MR) with which Porsche test driver Lars Kern blew around the track.
That same Lars Kern was behind the wheel of the Taycan Turbo S that set the record time for an electric production model. The Turbo S is the absolute top version of the Taycan with electric motors that together are good for 625 hp, but which at full acceleration with Launch Control switched on temporarily deliver 761 hp. The Taycan was equipped with the Tequipment Performance kit which includes 21-inch RS Spyder design wheels surrounded by Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires and also includes an update to Porsche 4D Chassis Control. This kit is currently only available in Germany, but should also be available in other countries by the end of this year. In addition, the Taycan Turbo S got a roll cage and special bucket seats.
The record lap of the Porsche Taycan Turbo S can be seen in the video below:
