Price Suzuki Swift Sport with mild hybrid technology known

Techzle can exclusively state which starting price Suzuki depends on the updated Swift Sport. The sportiest version of the Swift range now has mild hybrid technology.

At the end of last year it was announced that Suzuki had a new 1.4 Boosterjet in the development chambers, a blown four-cylinder that, in contrast to the current one, will have a mild hybrid technology.

The 1.4 Boosterjet Smart Hybrid replaces the 140 horsepower and 230 Nm strong 1.4 that Suzuki now has in the Swift Sport and will probably also come to the Vitara at a later stage. Detailed technical data are not yet available. We do know that the petrol engine itself now generates 130 instead of 140 hp. However, the torque with 235 Nm is slightly higher than is currently the case (230 Nm) and that power is also available earlier, at 2,000 instead of 2,500 rpm. Suzuki speaks of a reduction in CO2 emissions of up to 20 percent compared to the current 1.4 Boosterjet. The fuel consumption must be at 4.7 l / 100 km, 15 percent more favorable than currently. However, the car weight increases by 15 kilos. In contrast to the hybrid system that Suzuki delivers on the 1.2 in the Ignis (and Swift) among others, the system uses 48V on-board voltage in the 1.4 Boosterjet SHVS.

Suzuki promises to release all definitive specifications at the Geneva Motor Show. However, Techzle can exclusively state which price tag Suzuki is attached to the new Swift Sport. The tax value, ie making the price excluding costs ready for use, is € 24,582. That is € 12 less than before. The costs to make roadworthy amounts for the outgoing Swift Sport € 805. If they remain the same, that brings the starting price of the Swift Sport with its new mild-hybrid 1.4 to € 25,387.
