Prices renewed Mercedes-Benz A-class

Recently, AutoWeek was able to report the prices of the renewed B-class and now we can tell you what the facelifted A-class Hatchback and A-class Limousine will cost. Not only are the prices different; the engine palette now looks very different. Just like with the B-class, Mercedes-Benz is drawing a line through all diesel engines. No more 116 hp 180 d, 150 hp 200 d and 220 d with 190 hp for the A-class Hatchback and A-class Limousine. Almost all versions increase in price at the bottom of the line, but are now equipped as standard with extensive option packages that previously drove up the starting price. But that is by no means the only thing.

For example, almost all engines are now mild hybrid power sources that are supported by a 14 hp and 250 Nm strong electric motor. The plug-in hybrid A250 e and the absolute top version of AMG – the A45 S – are excluded. The now mild-hybrid A180 is the entry-level model. It has a 136-hp 1.3 that is tied to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This machine is supported by a 14 hp electric motor. The Mercedes-Benz A-class Hatchback costs €41,972 as an A180 in Business Line version. More about that later. The A-class Limousine costs €42,908 in the same configuration. Both the A-class Hatchback and A-class Limousine are also available as the A180 as a Luxury Line and as an AMG Line.

The 163 hp 1.3 that is in the A200 provides more petrol and is therefore also accompanied by a 14 hp and 250 Nm strong electric motor. The Business Line version ignores this variant. It is available as a Luxury Line and as an AMG Line. The A-class Hatchback A200 costs €45,739 as a Luxury Line, for the Limousine in the same composition you have to bring €46,949. Completely new is the A220 with a 190 hp and also mild hybrid 1.3. This new engine version is not tied to a seven-speed automatic transmission, but to one with eight gears. The A220 is only available with a 4Matic drive and is also only available as an AMG Line. The A-class Hatchback costs €57,033 as an A220 4Matic AMG Line, the Limousine €58,243. We are not there yet, because A250 with 224-hp petrol engine is once again present. It was previously also available without a 4Matic drive, but is now always equipped with it. Previously you got a seven-speed automatic transmission in this variant, but that is now an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Just like the A220, the A250 is only available as an AMG Line. The A-class Hatchback A250 4Matic AMG Line will cost you at least €70,199, the Limousine costs €71,409 in this composition.

With the plug-in hybrid A250e you can travel up to 80 kilometers on electric power.

Plug-in hybrid

Naturally, the plug-in hybrid A250 e returns, as a hatchback and as a limousine. It now has a 163 hp and 270 Nm strong 1.3, instead of a copy of 160 hp and 250 Nm. With 109 hp and 300 Nm, the electric motor is more powerful than the 102 hp unit it replaces. The system power is unchanged at 218 hp and 450 Nm and in terms of speed it even has to leave the previous A250 e ahead. The 0-100 sprint takes 0.8 seconds longer at 7.4 seconds and the top speed is 10 km/h lower at 225 km/h. More importantly, however, is that the range has increased from 68-73 kilometers to 70-80 kilometers.

The plug-in hybrid A250 e is available as a Business Line, Luxury Line and AMG Line. The A-class Hatchback costs €48,483 as the A250 e Business Line, the Limousine €49,669.

The 422 hp strong A 45 S 4Matic is only available as a hatchback.

AMG

Finally, in addition to AMG Line versions, there are also real AMG variants. The A-class Hatchback and Limousine is available as a 306-hp A35 4Matic with an eight-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission. Previously, this version had an AMG Speedshift gearbox with less gear. This 306 hp 2.0 will now also be supported by a 14 hp electric motor. The Mercedes-AMG A35 4Matic Hatchback costs €82,045, the Limousine €83,255. The top model is the 422 hp A45 S 4Matic+. That sniffed hot hatch is only available as a hatchback and costs €104,181. He does not receive mild hybrid support. You can sprint to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. Its top speed is 270 km/h.
