Problems with the notch on MacBook Pro? Apple gives the solution

One of the most notable changes of the new MacBook Pro is the addition of the notch. However, several owners of the new MacBook Pro are encountering problems with the notch. Apple now has a solution.

Notch issues on MacBook Pro

Like the iPhone, the new 2021 MacBook Pro has a notch. However, the notch on the new MacBook Pro is an eyesore for several users.

When you have many items in the menu bar at the top of the screen, the notch blocks several items. The menu options are still usable, but it is difficult to click on the correct items.

Apple has now created a support page detailing the solution to the notch issue. In short, it comes down to making the app’s dimensions fit under the notch (and built-in camera). You can read how to do that below.

  1. Close the app by pressing ‘Command + Q’;

  2. Tap “Finder” and “Apps” in the sidebar;

  3. Select the app and tap on ‘Show info’ (you can also use the ‘Command + I’ keys);

  4. Check the ‘Fit under built-in camera’ option.

The notch no longer hides menu options. However, not everyone likes this solution, because it adjusts the resolution scale (or the dimensions) of the app. It remains to be seen whether Apple has an even better solution in store for the problems with the notch on the MacBook Pro 2021.

The new MacBook Pro 2021

A new design, powerful Apple Silicon processor, new screen, the return of the HDMI port and more: the MacBook Pro 2021 has changed and improved on all fronts. With the smallest MacBook Pro, the screen has grown a bit: the screen diagonal now measures 14 inches. Its bigger brother again has a 16-inch display.

The MacBook Pro 2021 models are powered by new Pro chips: the M1 Pro and M1 Max. According to Apple, the new M chips are up to 70 percent faster than the M1 processor and that chip was already astonishingly fast.
