Purchase subsidy for electric delivery vans

There will be a purchase subsidy for new fully electric delivery vans from March. Entrepreneurs can then receive compensation of up to € 5,000 if they buy such a van.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management has that announced. Earlier it was announced that a scheme would be set up to convince entrepreneurs. A total of € 185 million will be added to the subsidy fund, of which € 22 million is intended for this year. A quick calculation shows that this year is at least enough for 4,400 delivery vans. The € 5,000 subsidy will be available for purchase, but can also be used for the lease of an emission-free van. Then the benefit is divided over the monthly costs. The national government does not speak of a maximum list price for the delivery vans as a condition. This was the case with the subsidy scheme for passenger cars.

The subsidy for clean delivery vans is related to the creation of zero-emission zones in cities. From 2025, these will be introduced in about twenty cities, according to the interest group for car manufacturers and importers RAI Association. The national government expects that this number may even reach thirty this summer. Emission-free delivery vans and trucks are then needed to stock stores. “The emission zones are part of the climate agreement,” said the association. The trade association believes that speed must now also be made with a contribution towards the costs for clean trucks.
