Quickly search images from websites

search images from websites(1)

Websites often contain the most beautiful images. Without leaving the site, search Chrome for images similar to it. That’s easy!

Anyone who is regularly online will notice that images play a major role on the internet. They bring an article to life or give a good impression of what it looks like somewhere. If you come across a nice picture and are looking for the original, or looking for something similar, you don’t have to open a separate search site. Similar images can be searched directly from the Chrome browser.

  • Open the website that contains the image you want to search for.
  • Hover over the image with the mouse pointer.
  • Right click.
  • click on Search image in Google.
  • Google’s Image Finder will open in a new tab.
  • At the top is a scaled-down version of the image. If multiple sizes are found, different sizes will be listed under ‘Find other sizes of this image’. Click on the format you want.
  • If the image is not found anywhere else, or if you are looking for a similar image, look in the search results under ‘Visually similar images’.

This way of searching works for images that are placed as a single image in a text or on a page. Images that are part of a menu cannot be found in this way. So it’s a matter of trying. Doesn’t ‘Search image in Google’ appear in the shortcut menu? Then the picture cannot be found in this way.

Please note: images on the internet cannot be used for just any purpose. This is because it is subject to copyright. You can use them for private applications, but not just for your own site or a public publication. Knowing more? Read the article ‘What about copyright on the internet?’
