Ram teases second electric pickup

RAM Electric Pickup

Ram is working on the electrification of its model range. There will be a big pickup on the STLA Frame base of parent company Stellantis anyway, but now we get to see a different model apparently.

The (mainly American) pick-up market is rapidly being prepared for electric propulsion. Think of cars like the GMC Hummer, the Tesla Cybertruck and the recently presented Chevrolet Silverado EV. Of course Ram can’t stay behind and so last summer we already got a harbinger of an electric Ram 1500. Now the brand shows a new teaser plate with a pick-up on it that is less clearly visible and also has a different line pattern.

Ram refers again in the accompanying text to the electric Ram 1500, which according to the brand will appear in 2024. That makes it somewhat confusing, since this really seems to be a different pick-up. We see a much more rounded body and a pointed nose. Ram speaks of a ‘broad portfolio of electrified vehicles’, so we bet that this is a (probably smaller) brother of the 1500. We immediately think of an electric alternative to the Ram 1000, which is actually a Fiat Toro. Logically, it is a completely new model on the same STLA Frame basis as the electric 1500. Time will tell.
