Do you think the gap between the Evoque and the Velar is too big? Then you are not alone. Land Rover is working behind the scenes on a version of the Range Rover Evoque with a longer wheelbase. In other words, the Range Rover Evoque Long Wheelbase.
The 4.37m Evoque is a hefty size smaller than the next model in Range Rover’s delivery line, the 4.8m Velar. The gap between those two SUVs will soon be filled by an extended version of the Evoque, the so-called Long Wheelbase. Land Rover is currently putting that longer Evoque through a series of cold tests near the Arctic Circle. Of course there are pictures of that.
The snapped Range Rover Evoque looks ‘just’ an Evoque, but if you look closely, you can really see that the doors are a lot longer. The design is hardly tampered with. Do not be surprised if the extended version of the Evoque gets a third row of seats and thus offers space for seven passengers, although you should of course not expect too much from the space in the rear seat row. It is not yet known how much longer the Evoque LWB than the current model, although we expect the wheelbase to grow by about 10 centimeters. That brings the distance between the front and rear axle to about 2.78 meters. Whether the extended Evoque will also be on the sales lists in Europe is still the question. The demand for such a model is considerably higher in China and various Asian markets.
