The Porsche Macan is blowing its seventh candle this year, but the life cycle of Porsche’s entry-level SUV is far from complete. The little brother of the Porsche Cayenne was refreshed three years ago and will be updated for a second time in the autumn of its existence.
The Macan is allowed to go for a while. Porsche will launch a fully electric second-generation Macan in 2022, a more coupé-SUV-like model that has nothing to do with the current-generation Macan technically. That electric Macan will soon be on the PPE platform, but the Macan currently available with petrol engines will simply be placed next to it. In a slightly refreshed form.
Porsche Macan, facelift 2021
The Porsche Macan, facelifted for the second time, is only very subtly renewed. Porsche is slightly revising the bumper work both front and rear. The red reflectors, which are currently located all the way to the corners of the rear bumper, slide towards the license plate. The license plate compartment continues downwards. Porsche will undoubtedly have modernized infotainment in the interior and it is also obvious that Porsche will give the Macan – just like the Panamera recently – the steering wheel of the new 911. We expect to see more of the updated Macan later this year.
