Apple will release iPhone 14 and more on September 7
Now that Apple has officially announced that we will be sitting in front of the television (or MacBook, iPad, iPhone) on September 7 for the launch of the iPhone 14, iOS 16 and other products, we can sketch a timeline.
The event will take place on September 7 at 7:00 PM Dutch time place and has the slogan ‘Far out’. You can watch this keynote via a live stream on Apple’s website and via Apple’s YouTube channel. We will also share a link on iPhoned. In addition, you can already put the following dates in your diary in pencil.
What is Apple going to launch?
The event will most likely be a hybrid between digital and live. So we hear more about the expected iPhone 14, the Apple Watch Series 8 and a new Apple Watch Pro (or Apple Watch Series X). Apple may also announce other products during the event.
Rumors are also about a new iPad and the AirPods Pro 2. On the other hand, we also heard that some Apple products will be released during an event in October. Nevertheless, we can provide a small overview for the month of September of all data surrounding the launch of the iPhone 14 and iOS 16, among others.
These are the dates of the launch of the iPhone 14
Apple analyst Mark Gurman was the first to report that Apple was planning an event for September 7 earlier this month. In that same report, Gurman also said that the iPhone 14 on 16 September should go on sale. Noted?
So we can probably expect the iPhone 14 on our doorstep on Friday 16 September! When can we ‘pre-order’ the phone? Apple pre-orders normally take place a week before launch. That’s why we think that from September 9th can order the iPhone 14. Unfortunately, we haven’t heard much about the data around the Apple Watch Series 8. For the sake of convenience, we assume that this will also happen around the launch and sale of the iPhone 14. That has often been the case in recent years.
Launch of iOS 16 for your iPhone
iOS 16 was announced with much excitement during WWDC in June. The new software version for your iPhone was tested this summer and the iPhone 14 comes with this new iOS version pre-installed. Not much changed with iOS 15 last year, but with iOS 16, Apple is going bigger. For example, the lock screen goes completely over the shovel and the battery percentage returns, iCloud photo sharing becomes easier.

Every year, Apple lets you download and install the new iOS before the company starts shipping the new iPhone. Therefore, given all the other dates, we believe iOS 16 will be available on your iPhone between Monday, September 12 and Wednesday, September 14.
Unfortunately, we know less about the software for other Apple products. We do know that iPadOS 16 will be released later than hoped due to issues surrounding the Stage Manager feature.
